Tesla offers free supercharging in cities across Ukraine

Companies around the world are taking action to try to help Ukraine and/or hinder Russia. Tesla is no exception and offers free electric vehicle charging in Ukrainian cities.

As Electrek reports, Tesla sent an email to supercharger stations in Poland, Slovakia and Hungary stating, “Starting Monday, we are temporarily enabling free supercharging for Tesla and non-Tesla vehicles at sites located in areas affected by the recent situation in Ukraine. .”

The first four stations to offer free charging are:

  • Trzebownisko (Poland)

  • Kosice (Slovakia)

  • Miskolc (Hungary)

  • Debrecen (Hungary)

The offer is an added incentive for local Tesla owners at these stations to help refugees get to a safe place, but it could also entice Tesla owners further afield to come and help knowing they will be able to recharge. without incurring any costs once they get there. .

Electrek also points out that Tesla vehicles have been imported into Ukraine in recent years, so owners in the country can plan to escape the situation and head to one of these Supercharger stations for a recharge before proceeding. their trip. That’s assuming they still have access to electricity at home to recharge before they leave.
